Love On The Brain is the sixth installment in Kerry Evelyn's Crane's Cove Series.
Brief Summary
Crane's Cove is a coastal town sitting between the Atlantic Ocean and the Acadian Woods. Crane's Cove is where our main character Jane Porter resides with her five-year-old son. Jane Porter is a widow, a single mom, a Nurse, and an active member of her local church. Jane has spent her life envisioning the white picket fence, a big family, and a big porch. All of that got pushed to the side when her husband died. She has somewhat settled into widowhood after her husband's untimely death. Jane is now walking through another storm. Her five-year-old son has a similar life-threatening illness. While battling past and present trauma, Jane is presented with an opportunity to experience love again with her college best friend.
My Review
The author did an outstanding job describing the emotional dilemma Jane is walking through. This book was a hallmark/lifetime movie on paper. The story and the characters were developed nicely and smoothly throughout the story. The author beautifully presented the complexities of grief. The main character's emotional and spiritual ups and downs were written and described expertly as well. I loved how there was a slight tension between characters to add to the story plot. Most of all, I enjoyed the way the principles of the Christian faith were intertwined in the story. Not only was I entertained, I was encouraged as well.
Love on the Brain by Kerry Evelyn receives 5 out of 5 stars from me. I highly recommend this book.
Crane's Cove is a special place. I plan on reading books 1-5. Crane's Cove series can be found on the author's website and on Amazon.
